Who are we?
We’re a family-run language school located in Córdoba, Spain, founded 7 years ago. Ahoy team consists of young teachers and interns from various European countries, such as Slovakia, Czech Republic, Italy, Romania, etc. Our main focus is teaching English to small groups of children (ages 3 to 18).
What are the main tasks?
Assisting the class teacher, preparing and organising teaching resources, evaluating students, helping fast finishers and/or struggling students, organising and attending workshops for children, attending staff meeting and training sessions.
What do we expect from you?
Minimum requirements: BA degree in English language teaching/philology, other qualifications may also be considered for the position.
What knowledge and skills can you gain during the internship?
Improve one’s teaching autonomy, learn new teaching methods and evaluation strategies, especially Cambridge English assessment, improve one’s conflict resolution, stress and time management, improvisation and organisation skills, team spirit, responsibility, etc.
Do we offer any contribution?
For the 3 months-long traineeships we do not offer any contribution. We can arrange free Spanish individual lessons, within a language exchange programme. Once the traineeship has finished, and depending on the trainee’s performance and mutual agreement, we may offer the trainee a part-time work contract, for several months or even school years.
What is the selection process?

Having shortlisted the candidates based on their profile (CV and motivation letter), we contact the pre-selected candidates and invite them to a video interview with the hiring manager. Within two weeks of the interview, the candidates will be informed whether they have been selected, in which case we start exchanging the relevant documentation and detailed information, all this at least 3 months before the start of the traineeship. We are regularly in contact with the confirmed candidates (future trainees) via email and also various video calls with the rest of the staff and future colleagues.
